Cork surfboard line

HARA

Context: A Portuguese brand building surfboards from cork, a material with its own flex, weight and finish.
Challenge: Translate proven outlines into a material that behaves differently from PU or EPS foam.
Luís's role: Model design, outline and rocker development, prototype shaping and testing.
Result: A range of cork models — Cosmic Egg, Golden Eye, Fish Wisdom — from the same design language.

02IdentifiedWave SUP & surf

Starboard

Context: International brand with a competitive wave range.
Challenge: Models that perform at the very top level of competition.
Luís's role: Design of wave models for the range, including the board used by a world champion.
Result: Models in production within the Starboard range.

03LimitedBig-wave surfing · Nazaré

Big-wave programme

Context: Boards for one of the heaviest waves on the planet.
Challenge: Control and stability at extreme speed, with safety as a design constraint.
Luís's role: Board design for the Nazaré big-wave programme.
Result: Ongoing design work season after season.

04LimitedKitesurf · Long distance

Record expedition

Context: A record kitesurf crossing between Lisbon and Madeira.
Challenge: A board for hundreds of kilometres of open ocean: efficiency, comfort and durability.
Luís's role: Development of the board used in the crossing.
Result: Crossing completed — the board went the full distance.

Context: An independent label with a strong visual identity.
Challenge: Keep the brand's character while making the boards work in the water.
